Community-Driven Strategies for Cleaner Air in the Valley

CCAC's Community Clean Air Plans program, supported by California’s Assembly Bill 617 Community Air Grant program, is designed to reduce air pollution in communities that bear the greatest health burdens from poor air quality. At the center of this program are Local Community Steering Committees (L-CSCs), where residents, advocates, and stakeholders come together to identify local pollution sources and set priorities for mitigation.

Through this process, CCAC helps communities develop Local Community Emissions Reduction Plans (L-CERPs)—strategic, community-driven roadmaps that outline specific measures to cut emissions, improve air quality, and protect public health. These plans ensure that the people most affected by air pollution play a central role in shaping the solutions.

Through this program, CCAC supports community voices with outreach, education, and technical expertise. The goal is to ensure that every plan not only reduces harmful emissions but also delivers lasting health, equity, and quality-of-life improvements for families across the San Joaquin Valley.
