Jesus Rivera

Jesus A. Rivera Lara is the first generation in his family to pursue higher education and is in the process of obtaining his bachelor’s in Public Health, with an emphasis in Environmental Occupational Health and Safety from California State University, Fresno.

Jesus is the Environmental Health Research Manager for the Central California Asthma Collaborative.

Jesus was raised in Corcoran, CA and grew up working in the fields alongside his family for several summers. He saw first-hand how difficult the work was and the poor air quality. During his undergrad, he became interested in finding ways of improving air quality in the Central Valley after taking an air pollution course. Now he dedicates his time to helping disadvantaged communities receive air filters and monitor the air quality of their homes.
